Question: I have been on the rigevidon pill for the last year and a half, when i first stared taking it i noticed a small amount of blood after sex but this stopped once i had been taking it for a couple of weeks. However i have noticed this problem has occured again it is only a very small amount there is no pain and it seems to be if i have sex about a week before my period or a couple of days after i have finished, wondering if it could be connected?

Answer: There are 2 possibilities: 1. Contact Bleeding, i.e. bleeding during or just after sex. There are several possible reasons. You should consult with your doctor to determine why you have contact bleeding For example a chlamydia infection or cervix abnormalities. 2. Bleeding, inclusive after sex, between periods on fixed days is usually caused by variations in the amount of hormones in your blood. Probably works the hormones estrogen and progestin or less regularly. This does no harm and is often self-limiting.
