Question: I am on Rigevidon, and I understand it is okay to take 2 pill packets back-to-back and then have the 7day break, but is it allowed to do this all the time - ie, take 2 pill packets, then break, then 2 pill packets, then break etc? I have done this for the past 4 months, but am worried it might not be advisable. Thank you.

Answer: You can take the pill continuously if you like, you will 1 or 2 times a year get breakthrough bleeding, which probably comes unexpectedly. So you can also choose for example after each box (3 strips) a week to stop welding, or after 2 strips in your case.   The gap week was invented by the developers of the pill, because women withdrawal bleeding seen as extra assurance that they were not pregnant, no bleeding which they relied not all.   It is true: if you stop after more than a few months by swallowing pills, it can take months before your period starts up again, something to keep in mind if you ever want to become pregnant. (Incidentally, there is no guarantee that you will not become pregnant until your period has not yet begun!)
