Malarone Stock information

Although there are some stock issues, some of Pharma.Myonlinedoctor's pharmacies have stocks of Malarone available. Please contact us on 020 3176 0022 to order Malarone. One of our customer representatives will be able to help you place your order.
As of the 18th of December, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) reported that they had temporarily halted the production of Malarone (atovaquone/proguanil hydrochloride). Latest news from GSK is that new stock will not be delivered to the pharmacises untill the last week of January.
As of today the 19th of December, Pharma.MyonlineDoctor can report that there are already some stock issues with Malarone. Our pharmacy network are already indicating that stocks at wholesalers are already running low and some members of the public have today approached us enquiring us if we have stock.
Malarone is an antimalarial used in the prevention of contracting malaria - a potentially life threatening disease. For this reason this stock shortage is potentially a very serious issue.

Why are others having stock issues
As GSK did not give advanced warning of stock issues all suppliers with a single supply source such as;
Online pharmacies - DrFox, and Pharmacy2U, have already reported lack of stock and have been unable to order their usual quota.
Large Chains - The same single supply chain issue has meant that even large chains such as Asda, Tesco and Lloyds have been effected as reported on blogs.
Travel Clinics - Although many travel clinics stock up at this time of year many are already reporting that they are out of stock or will shortly have stock issues.
Pharma.myonlinedoctorhas been less affected as our large number of registered independent pharmacies allows us to have a wide supply chain meaning there is always one pharmacy with sufficient supplies in stock for us to be able to meet demand.
